Second Stretch Goal Reached! And Some International Shipping News!
almost 4 years ago – Mon, Jun 29, 2020 at 10:01:08 AM

Last night we smashed through our 12,000 stretch goal to unlock a premium Print and Play version of the game! We're particularly excited about this, because it means we can update our current Print and Play with a newer, better version that contains all the eye catching art that our talented artists have been whipping up for you guys. We hope to release the updated Print and Play exclusively to our backers in the next 2-3 months time.

Speaking of art, we're always excited to share some of our ridiculous hand-drawn art that's included in the "Courtroom Collector" backer level (each backer in this tier will get 1 piece, randomly selected):

Ah, the infamous exhibit 28: SPF 300 sunscreen. A sun block so powerful that the wearer becomes less tan each second after application! Was the defendant crossing the Sahara Desert before committing the heist of the century? Could your defendant (prone to frying like bacon in the summer) possibly have ruined that slip-and-slide party without their sunscreen? Use the evidence cards in whichever way you choose, as long as it makes YOU laugh.

Aside from our art and stretch goal announcements, we also wanted to give an update on some important shipping information for our international backers: WE HAVE QUOTES IN! We will be finalizing that information, posting an updated graphic, and answering questions on it tomorrow, but I think you've all been patient enough to earn a little sneak peek at what's included in those estimates:

I'm sure the Super Backers among you all will quickly be able to solve the mystery :)

As always, we cannot thank you guys enough! We are excited to keep unlocking stretch goals and hope that the shipping estimates tomorrow will help bring us even closer to #GavelsForEveryone!

Annnnnd They're Gone! Thank you to everyone who backed us at the "Prosecution Calls Us To The Stand Level!"
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jun 25, 2020 at 07:39:17 PM

Annnnnnnd they're gone! We are officially all out of witnesses! Thank you to everyone who backed us at the "Prosecution calls YOU to the stand" and "Supreme Court Package" levels! We're really excited to be able to put some of the people who made this project happen directly into the game itself. Our witness artist Jared Yamahata has already done a great job bringing some of our characters to life...

Here's a sneak peek at some of the roles that might be up for grabs:

  • The Crime Boss
  • The Vegan
  • The Carnie
  • The Juggalo
  • The Astronaut
  • The Hired Gun

And wherever else our depraved imaginations take us!

Additionally, we have some amazing art that's hot off the presses (fingers?) of our incredibly talented sketch artist:

Presenting exhibit 8... The mysterious and magic 8 ball. What's so mysterious about it? Well, how bout this? What IS that blue liquid inside? Nobody knows... In regards to how you can use it in court, perhaps its actually the perfect scapegoat: "I'm sorry your honor, my client is not responsible for the actions he's accused of. He was taking orders from a higher power... namely 2 to the power of 3..."

The only thing we enjoy more than seeing art like this get finished is knowing that it's going to end up in your hands. Everyone in the Courtroom Collector tier is getting one of the original 6x8 pastel drawings that were commissioned for the game. There's a limited number of slots left, so snag the art before it's all gone!

Thanks for your support everyone. We couldn't do this without you!

First Stretch Goal Cleared!
almost 4 years ago – Thu, Jun 25, 2020 at 06:02:06 AM

You guys have had our back, now we have yours... your card backs that is...

We've been counting down the pledges to reach this first stretch goal: updated card backs! And we're so excited to share them with you! We think adding these new designs will help make playing All Rise at home much more dynamic and visually appealing than the first set.

The old card backs used pretty simple iconography and colors to designate card types, so we went ahead and asked our artists to whip up a tentative design of what the Evidence Card back might look like:

We loved the concept of an 'Evidence Locker Room', a more thematic way to convey the plethora of evidence that will be at your disposal in the world of All Rise. We have similar designs for the Witness and Case Card Decks. (My personal favorite being the case cards. It's one of those old newspaper dispensers you used to see on sidewalks that cost 50 cents. Ah the nostalgia...)

We're so happy to see that we're still finding new support after funding, and we want to thank the folks that have been sharing the campaign with their friends. We couldn't make this happen without the good people who have been shining a spotlight on our little project here. Anyways, there's plenty of stretch goals left to keep making the game even better as we continue to push forward. #GavelsForEveryone

See you at $12,000!

All we can say is "Wow"... and then quickly add to that, "Holy crap, thank you!"
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jun 17, 2020 at 10:18:18 AM

Day 1 of All Rise's Kickstarter campaign was an overwhelming success. We saw over $4,000 dollars pledged in just the first few hours of the campaign, putting us at 40% of our funding goal in less than 24 hours. It’s because of your efforts that we’ve already made it this far...

Your pledges and donations mean so much to us, and we're so grateful to have some folks out there that are just as excited about this game as we are. That being the case, we wanted to share some of the art that we have trickling in day by day to show you guys some of the progress that's happening with the game even as we speak:

This is exhibit #5 "The Corked Bat." A perfect tool for hitting illicit home runs. Or perhaps the space inside was used to store contraband. Or maybe it's just a termite-infested murder weapon... We thought a corked back would give a lot of really fun story choices for attorneys, and we're pumped to see it in the game.

Here's the infamous exhibit #1: "The Newspaper with a Specific Date" (Finished on 6/4/2020). Sometimes being able to pin a culprit at the right place and time can be the final nail in the coffin for a cunning prosecutor. It can also be an airtight alibi for the defense! We wanted to have the classic newspaper in the game, as an ode to every law and order drama that's used the trope before!

Special thanks to Linda Yungerberg for doing the art for the evidence cards. These are all hand-drawn on 6 x 8, 160 gsm pastel stock paper, and we're really excited to be sending the originals to everyone who has supported us at the "Courtroom Collector" and "Supreme Court" level!

Once again, we're so thrilled to share how the game is coming along with you guys, and grateful doesn't even begin to cover how much it means to see our friends, our family, and the board game community all come together to make this thing possible.

Best,

RDG
